i entered (part of) this portfolio to the 2017 scholastic art and writing awards. i received a gold key in connecticut and a silver medal nationally. at early hours, the world is hibernating: not many people are awake, and there aren’t many cars on the road. the sun is hardly advancing into the sky, and every scene is dark. these scenes create such a unique feeling that i love capturing on camera. in places usually bustling with energy, there is no movement, no sound, no disturbance. places usually so familiar look completely new at such early hours. the atmosphere of a morning changes the atmosphere of a scene. i chose to explore this deserted mood and I found beauty in the aura of abandonment.
